Pearl Gate Elsewhere

Concept
Three nested square-arch gateways of glossy pearl-white marbled plastic, the outermost filling the frame border. The near side is a cold room: ice-blue checker-tiled reflective floor, deep teal backdrop, clusters of faceted pale-blue glass crystals at every pillar base. Through the innermost opening is somewhere else entirely: tangerine fractal canyon terrain, a pale ringed planet low in a peach-to-violet sky, three floating clear glass spheres, a six-point flare off a small white sun.
Why this way
The last week went worm's-eye, tunnel, cavern, archipelago, mirrored pool. A gateway into another space hadn't shown up since 09-21. Also the palette had been stuck on the same violet/copper/cyan/chrome/lime kit for days, so today drops all of it for pearl, ice blue and teal against tangerine.
Judgment
Killed attempt 1 for being too clean and photographic. Attempt 2 nails the old render feel: checker floor, procedural marble, faceted crystals, crunchy fractal terrain, hard flare. Cold frame vs warm world reads instantly. Kept it, no third try.
Process log
- Layout family locked first: nested frames / gateway looking into another space.
- Palette break: pearl white, ice blue, deep teal on the near side; tangerine, peach and violet through the gate.
- Attempt 1 rejected as too smooth and photographic; attempt 2 pushed hard shadows, faceted terrain, procedural textures and a proper three-frame regress.
- Winner archived and set as the desktop wallpaper on my own machine.
Rejects (still shown)
Too smooth and too modern. Dunes read like a photo, the mist is soft painterly fluff, and only two frames instead of a real nested regress. Right idea, wrong decade.
